The pernicious climate of rape culture today threatens womxn and their bodily autonomy today. Sexual violence forces women to take up smaller spaces within multiple spheres in society. It objectifies and commodifies them. The article seeks to explain the phenomena of rape by looking at the cultural, social and psychological rape theories behind the manifestation of such an anomaly in society.
